About the Software Engineer III, Waze Routing Role at Google

As a Software Engineer III, Waze Routing, you will work on a specific project critical to Google’s needs with opportunities to switch teams and projects as you and our fast-paced business grow and evolve. We need our engineers to be versatile, display leadership qualities and be enthusiastic to take on new problems across the full-stack as we continue to push technology forward.
The Waze Routing team is the core engine behind the magic of Waze. We are responsible for building and scaling the complex systems that compute the best possible routes for millions of users in real-time. Our work involves addressing fascinating challenges in algorithms and real-time data processing to provide users with not just a path, but the best path.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 years of experience with software development in Java programming language, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with large-scale distributed systems and cloud platforms like Google Cloud Platform.
- 2 years of experience with systems software design and development.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve the teams services.
- Manage individual project priorities, deadlines and deliverables.
- Be responsible and drive the adoption of new and exciting technologies.
- Review code developed by other engineers and provide feedback to ensure best practices.
- Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
