As a Software Engineer, Google Security Operations, you will work on a specific project critical to Google’s needs with opportunities to switch teams and projects as you and our fast-paced business grow and evolve. The Risk Analytics team is focused on providing advanced correlation, enrichment and contextualization workflows for a large breath of security signals, boiling them down to a critical and actionable set that not only enables our enterprise customers to focus on remediation efforts, but proactively address threats before they become incidents.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $141,000-$202,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 years of experience with software development in C++ or Go, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
- Experience building and architecting large-scale distributed systems.
- Experience performing quantitative and qualitative data analysis to drive product or business decisions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
- 2 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
- Experience developing and deploying applications that leverage Google Cloud Spanner for data persistence in a production environment.
- Experience with cloud security architecture, including designing and implementing secure cloud solutions.
- Experience designing, building, and operating large-scale distributed systems for large enterprise customers.
- Experience developing and deploying machine learning models for anomaly detection in production environments.
Responsibilities
- Write product or system development code.
- Work on projects that improve the security posture of Chronicle and Google SecOps.
- Collaborate effectively with and help drive work with peers on partner teams including security teams, appliance platform teams, infrastructure teams (Kernel, Storage), and the wider Chronicle organization.
- Build anomaly detection and statistical models to detect suspicious activity across various types of entities.
- Design solutions that both improve our users' security posture and help us scale programmatically to handle the operational requirements of massively-scalable distributed storage service. This includes providing operational support as part of an on-call rotation.
