About the Senior Technical Program Manager, Search Discover AI Feed Role at Google

As a Program Manager at Google, you’ll lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish — working with stakeholders to plan requirements, manage project schedules, identify risks, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. Your projects will often span offices, time zones, and hemispheres. It's your job to coordinate the players and keep them up to date on progress and deadlines.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 10 years of experience in program or project management.
- Experience in software development life cycle (SDLC) management, technical program management, and business operations.
- Experience with cross-functional stakeholder management and leadership through influence.
Preferred Qualifications
- 10 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
- Experience with systems thinking and design systems.
- Ability to run and deliver results on technical projects across distributed sites under tight deadlines.
- Ability to influence and communicate cross-functionally with all levels of management.
- Ability to operate with energy and flexibility in a changing team environment.
- Excellent technical, problem-solving and quantitative skills.
Responsibilities
- Lead a distributed team of cross-functional Discover and Search Leads to drive strategy, planning, operations, and execution of the portfolio.
- Partner closely with Executive Stakeholders, Engineering, Product Management, User Experience (UX), and Operations (Ops) Engineering, while coordinating more broadly with partners in other parts of Search or Google.
- Create clarity, bring visibility, and strengthen communication across the teams to bridge seamless communication between the involved contributing teams.
- Lead and mentor project staff and team members; as a executive member of the organization, serve as a mentor, formally or informally, to coach and foster a strong, cohesive culture among Technical Program Managers (TPMs).
- Proactively derisk delivery of the committed Objectives and Key Results (OKRs), and manage execution of the corresponding portfolio to deliver in the context of larger Search goals.
