About the Senior Technical Program Manager, Infrastructure Engineering Solutions Role at Google
As a Senior Technical Program Manager for Infrastructure Engineering Solutions within Google's Supply Strategy and Portfolio Planning (SSP) team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that data center and network strategy aligns seamlessly with the dynamic and evolving demands of cloud computing, AI, and the broader market. You will serve as the technical expert bridging cloud/AI customer needs with the physical realities of infrastructure.
As part of the Global Infrastructure and Energy (GIE) team, responsible for delivering the infrastructure capacity needed to support Google's rapidly growing product portfolio, you will manage a portfolio of infrastructure projects. Your work will ensure Google's services have the resources they need to operate seamlessly and reliably, performing location strategy and portfolio management to determine where, why, and how much infrastructure assets Google needs to seamlessly scale into the future.
In this role, you will leverage your understanding of cloud market trends, technical requirements, data center, and network to drive decisions on where and how we expand our global footprint, supporting some of the world's most innovative technologies.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience in program management.
- 8 years of experience in data center or network infrastructure, cloud computing, or technical infrastructure.
Preferred Qualifications
- 8 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
- Experience with data center or network infrastructure planning, evaluation, and negotiations.
- Understanding of hyperscale cloud architecture, networking, power, or cooling technologies.
- Ability to build and deliver data-driven solutions and translating them into technical insights and quickly actionable decisions for the business and team.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to various audiences.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with physical assets team (data center, network) and engineering teams to identify, evaluate, and recommend optimal infrastructure solutions based on technical criteria, market conditions, and business objectives.
- Partner with internal cloud engineering, network, security, finance, and legal teams, as well as external network planners, data center planners, and utility providers, to execute comprehensive infrastructure strategies, and develop new products where necessary to meet future infrastructure needs for Cloud and AI expansion.
- Translate technical cloud infrastructure requirements (e.g., power density, cooling, network connectivity, latency, security, compliance) into actionable specifications for infrastructure planning (data center, network).
- Advise on infrastructure strategies, continuously seeking opportunities for cost optimization, scalability, and operational efficiency across our physical asset portfolio.
