As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.
In this role, you will assume leadership of multifaceted, cross-disciplinary projects. Through collaboration with clients, you will outline project requirements and maintain ownership throughout the project lifecycle. This encompasses managing project timelines, identifying potential risks, and conveying project objectives to stakeholders. Your responsibilities will span multiple locations, time zones, and global regions, it will be your duty to ensure that all parties involved remain aligned with the project's progress and deadlines.
You will be responsible for identifying, outlining, and overseeing projects that enhance the value of Alphabet's enterprise network and other networking offerings for our users and clientele. You will address customers requirements by aligning them either with our standard solutions or assuming ownership of new product engineering from inception to market launch. You will acquire a profound understanding of our users and customers, their needs, and priorities, and ensure that our network offerings deliver the possible quality and value. Your mandate includes ensuring transparency in our processes with respect to user and customer requests, encompassing alignment on prioritization, commitment, and delivery.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of Technical Program Managers (TPMs) to oversee Google Enterprise Network (GEN) network automation programs, directing the development and delivery of enterprise products through software-driven solutions and global cross-functional collaboration.
- Design and implement improved delivery processes, leveraging root cause analysis and baseline Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to optimize business operations and ensure the reliable achievement of objectives.
- Manage third-party monitoring and troubleshooting vendors, facilitating technical escalations and coordinating engineering efforts to maintain high-quality network services.
- Guide the coordination and execution of large-scale networking projects through the Product Life Cycle (PLC), collaborating with engineering teams to launch and iterate network products.
- Develop reporting to track scope, schedule, budget, and risks, while actively managing stakeholder communications to address issues and ensure timely delivery.
Minimum qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience in program management.
- Experience in agile program/project management.
- Experience in product lifecycle management.
Preferred qualifications
- PMP, Scrum, Agile project management certification, CCNA, CCNP, or other certifications in network technologies or similar.
- 8 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
- Experience in planning, designing, and implementing large-scale global transformation programs and emerging technology initiatives.
- Experience in data analytics, presentation, and SRE methodologies with a steadfast focus on defect-free delivery.
- Experience in managing technical vendors, leading quarterly business reviews, and guiding results within highly integrated, cross-functional teams.
