About the Job
At Google, we strive to create and maintain the safest operating environment for our users and developers. As a Security Engineer, you will protect network boundaries, harden systems and network devices against attacks, and provide security services to safeguard highly sensitive data. You will work directly with network equipment, monitor systems for attacks and intrusions, and collaborate with software engineers to proactively identify and fix security flaws.
You will leverage your industry experience to own and drive the resolution of complex security incidents, policy questions, and technical security issues. Enterprise Data Protection (EDP) is a comprehensive cyber-security program focused on holistic security controls across Google's systems and enforcing consistent security policies on all platforms housing Google’s intellectual property. EDP develops and delivers native security controls while influencing and integrating security standards across other teams, focusing on proactive, preventive measures.
In EDP, you will engineer the next generation of data protection by building infrastructure that safeguards Google’s intellectual property and user data. We deliver reliable, high-scale systems and seamless Data Loss Prevention (DLP) solutions that balance security with developer usability, ensuring every Googler can work securely and resiliently across the globe. The Core team builds the technical foundation behind Google’s flagship products, acting as owners and advocates for the underlying design elements, developer platforms, product components, and infrastructure. We impact important technical decisions across the company by building central solutions, breaking down technical barriers, and strengthening existing systems.
Responsibilities
