About The Role: Senior Financial Analyst, Google Global Networking

As a Senior Financial Analyst, working on multiple projects at a time, you are focused on the details while finding creative ways to take on big picture challenges. You will lead individual projects to transform planning, tracking, and control processes. You will have a unique opportunity to work regularly with the business' leadership team, and be deeply embedded in the business and expected to serve as a strategic thought partner. Whether it's monthly/quarterly finance reviews, negotiation diligence/reviews, modeling business scenarios, or tracking performance metrics, your work will be used by our engineering, business, and finance leaders to make strategic resource allocation decisions. Additionally, you will be regularly communicating complex analytical findings, models, and strategic recommendations effectively to different audiences, including executive stakeholders.

And nobody at Google loves big numbers like the Finance team when providing in-depth analysis on all manner of strategic decisions across Google products. From developing forward-thinking analysis to generating management reports to scaling our automated financial processes, the Finance organization is an important partner and advisor to the business.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with multiple stakeholders across Technical Infrastructure (TI), engineers, negotiators, controllership, and Google product/service teams to deliver on efficient scaling of Google’s network.
  • Develop end-to-end financial models and analyze them to support strategic initiatives.
  • Lead monthly finance reviews of financial trends to executive audiences.
  • Drive strategic projects to help the business with decision making and improving efficiency of networking infrastructure.
  • Influence the technology and provide financial guidance to business decision makers to ensure sound financial decisions, including ad-hoc business cases and capturing return on investment.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or another quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience in financial planning and analysis (FP&A), consulting, investment banking, or a related function.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience owning and driving complex, cross-functional financial strategy projects with minimal guidance.
  • Knowledge of the networking, telecom, cloud, or fiber industry, specifically related to infrastructure costs and planning.
  • Ability to grasp complex problems and convert them into financial analyses.
  • Ability to work with a high degree of proactivity and ownership mindset.
  • Ability to influence without authority, be confident to interact with all levels, set objectives, drive results, and be a team player.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to successfully influence VP-level executive stakeholders.
