Security Consultant Cyber Defense

About the Security Consultant Cyber Defense Role

This position facilitates efficient incident response activities and daily operations within a Cyber Defense Center (CDC). The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams including Security Architects, Security Engineers, and IT resources to support and enhance client security operations.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or related field
• 5 years designing and securing multi-cloud environments (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS)
• 5 years as an SOC analyst, malware research, threat hunting with EDR and SIEM technologies
• Experience leading incident response activities

Preferred Qualifications

• Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CISSP, SANS-GIAC, CCNA, CEH
• Experience with cloud-native architectures including containerization (Kubernetes, Docker) and serverless computing
• Proficiency in scripting languages (PowerShell, Python)
• Understanding of security controls for Linux and network devices
• Ability to collaborate with client stakeholders to resolve security issues

Responsibilities

• Identify challenges in customer Cyber Defense Centers and execute improvement strategies
• Conduct real-time analysis using SIEM, endpoint and network-based technologies
• Advise on CDC, CSIRT and SOC management activities
• Research cybersecurity intelligence sources and methodologies to strengthen incident detection and response
• Engage with client stakeholders for efficient resolution of security issues
• Provide consultation for deployment and operations of Google SecOps in client environments
• Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Cloud Forensics and Incident Response
