About the Role: Research Scientist, GenAI, Experiences at Google
As a Research Scientist focusing on GenAI and Experiences within Google Research, you will be at the forefront of developing the next generation of intelligent systems that power Google's diverse product portfolio. This role offers the unique opportunity to blend fundamental research with practical application, working on real-world problems that span the breadth of computer science.
You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating advanced Machine Learning models, particularly those leveraging large-scale datasets to analyze and predict human preferences and behavior. A key aspect of your work will involve architecting and maintaining robust systems for both model training and high-performance serving. Expect to perform rigorous statistical analyses on vast datasets to uncover actionable insights, directly contributing to product development and measurable improvements in user experience.
Collaboration is central to this position, as you will work closely with various partners across Google to integrate cutting-edge ML models. Furthermore, you will actively contribute to the wider research community by publishing original findings and novel methodologies in top-tier conferences and journals, fostering a culture of innovation and knowledge sharing.
Minimum Qualifications
- PhD degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience with one or more of the following: computer vision, machine learning, or natural language processing.
- Proficiency in software development using Python.
- One or more scientific publication submissions to conferences, journals, or public repositories (e.g., CVPR, ICCV, NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR).
Preferred Qualifications
- 2 years of experience in coding.
- 1 year of experience owning and initiating research agendas.
- Experience with Jax/PyTorch, Python, and building/launching ML models.
- Applied ML skills, including Large Language Models (LLMs) and Natural Language Processing (NLP).
- Experience with quantitative research or investigative data analysis abilities.
- Familiarity with Google infrastructure such as Flume.
