Job Description
About The Job
At Google, we aim to foster Googley work environments that are collaborative, friendly and fun. The Facilities Management team brings our spaces to life as you oversee the daily operations of our offices. While roles with similar names at other companies can be far more mundane, you're a creative, organized customer service specialist, who takes pride in seeing things run smoothly and efficiently. You go out of your way to make sure that clients are not only satisfied, but singing Google's praises. You're comfortable in a fast-paced environment with the highest standards of excellence. You aren't afraid to have fun with your job, and bring an enthusiasm, dedication and a collaborative spirit to build and maintain office spaces that facilitate some of the world's most cutting edge innovation. The Real Estate and Workplace Services (REWS) creates work environments and experiences that enable culture, innovation, well being, and productivity. Our mission is to create the places, services, and experiences that enable Google to grow. We create exceptional, Googley environments where people from around the world come to do their best work every day. We’re relentlessly intentional about our decisions -- aiming to balance the overall needs of Google with a long-term focus on sustainability. From the offices and workspaces we build and manage to the food, events, and transportation options we offer, our REWS teams work closely together to provide an integrated workplace experience that is a cornerstone of Google’s culture of collaboration and innovation.Responsibilities
- Define the regional operational architecture and approach for the extended workforce, transitioning the focus to proactive maintenance to ensure high availability, system reliability, and lifecycle management at scale.
- Operationalize global Internet of Things (IoT) strategies into regional plans and serve as the regional authority for cyber risk acceptance and compliance deviations, leveraging subdomain expertise to ensure all regional IoT systems remain compliant.
- Own the regional programs for vulnerability and patch management and drive technical and corrective actions for IoT security incidents, ensuring mitigation within defined Service Level Objectives (SLOs) for systems including building management, outdoor, food, health, and performance.
- Lead regional procurement to ensure all IoT systems meet security-by-design and functionality standards, and scale "Smart Building" portfolios using predictive analytics and IoT infrastructure to extend asset lifecycles.
- Cultivate a data-driven security culture through targeted training.
Minimum qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Building Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Controls, IT, or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience defining and leading cross country programs in system operations, lifecycle management, and cyber security for an operational technology (OT) or IoT portfolio.
- Experience balancing OT and smart building engineering (HVAC, lighting, FDD, Waste management, kitchen systems, fitness machines) with applied cyber security principles (network segmentation, encryption, access and identity).
- Experience in incident response, vulnerability management, and technical risk decisions.
Preferred qualifications
- Certification in cybersecurity or IoT/smart building technologies.
- Experience in procurement and vendor management, including negotiating SLAs/SLOs and enforcing third-party contractual performance standards.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to represent the organization internally and externally.
