About the Red Team Consultant, Mandiant Consulting Role at Google
As a Red Team Consultant with Mandiant Consulting, part of Google Cloud, you will deliver critical cybersecurity consulting services and support to our clients. This involves comprehensive assessments and advisory on technical and process-based controls across various environments. Your core responsibilities include performing Red and Purple team assessments, mimicking real-world cyber attacks against customer organizations, and conducting other technical cyber assessments like external engagement, web application, mobile, and wireless security testing. You will also contribute to expanding the team's capabilities through tool development, offensive technique research, integration of threat intelligence, and internal knowledge sharing.
In this role, you will create detailed and precise reports and presentations for both technical and executive stakeholders, establishing yourself as a trusted advisor to C-level executives, security leaders, and other customer contacts. You will support scoping new engagements, lead engagement teams from initiation to remediation, and mentor junior staff members. Mandiant, a recognized leader in dynamic cyber defense, threat intelligence, and incident response, leverages its frontline experience and nation-state grade threat intelligence to offer unparalleled insights into advanced threats.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
- Execute diverse offensive technical cybersecurity engagements.
- Provide expert advice to clients on best practices for remediating identified security vulnerabilities.
- Collaborate with internal teams to enhance service delivery and client value.
- Serve as a primary interface for clients, addressing concerns, issues, and escalations, and ensuring timely resolution of engagement-impacting factors.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 3 years of experience in assessing and developing cybersecurity solutions across multiple security domains.
- Proficiency in four or more areas: network protocols, threat intelligence analysis, system/network administration, project management, application development, technical incident response, source code review, or reverse engineering.
- Proven experience in offensive security.
- Familiarity with operating system security across Windows, Linux, or Mac.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications in offensive security such as OSCE, OSEP, OSEE, OSCP, CISSP, CISA, or relevant SANS courses.
- Experience engaging with local sales and management teams to drive consulting business, scope projects, and manage client relationships.
- Skill in creating security tools and understanding programming languages like Python, C#, C/C++, Rust, or Nim.
- Aptitude for clearly communicating complex technical details through reports and presentations to both technical and executive audiences.
- Exceptional communication, collaboration, and public speaking abilities.
