About the Program Manager Role at Google
As a Program Manager at Google, you will lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. This involves collaborating with stakeholders to plan requirements, manage project schedules, identify risks, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. Your projects will often span multiple offices, time zones, and hemispheres, requiring you to coordinate various players and keep them updated on progress and deadlines.
In this role, you will be responsible for multiple campuses, driving the efficient delivery of Google’s Data Center Portfolio. This includes direct engagement in commercial discussions with Main/Sub agreements regarding cost alignment, and actively driving cost/schedule optimization into our procurement awards. You will collaborate with Google Data Center (GDC) Partner Teams and Engineering Groups to support the delivery and management of Google's Capital Expenditure program. Your leadership will extend to working with procurement and agreements teams for the assessment and awarding of key suppliers and subcontractors across our GDC builds in North America. By delivering cost planning and cost management for campuses, you will create significant impact and ensure best value, leading cost management implementation with our General Contractors and Managed Service Suppliers. Additionally, you will lead initiatives for continuous improvement of cost management with a focus on commercial optimization, and work directly with project teams to support project and cost control implementation, including setup, training, execution, and assurance.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Industrial Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience in data center construction, leading cost management, project controls, or cost estimation.
- 5 years of experience working with multinational and dynamic technical construction programs/projects.
- Experience with cost management, cost planning and estimation, negotiation, and project procurement.
Preferred Qualifications
- 7 years of experience in data center construction.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive the efficient delivery of Google’s Data Center Portfolio through direct engagement in commercial agreements with GC/Sub Contracts regarding cost alignment and schedule optimization in procurement.
- Establish the most commercially advantageous outcomes with our tier-one and two supply chains.
