Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 years of experience in a policy, legal, trust and safety, or technology environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- JD, MBA or Master’s degree in a technical field.
- Experience with the ads ecosystem or ad technology.
- Understanding of Artificial Intelligence/Large Language Model (AI/LLM) systems and aligning policy frameworks with product and engineering teams.
- Ability to translate issues into simple and clear language, collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, and navigate organizational boundaries.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in an ever-changing environment.
- Excellent written, presentation, and communication skills.
About The Job
The Trust & Safety team at Google is dedicated to identifying and resolving the most significant challenges to product safety and integrity. As a Product Policy Advisor, Global Policy and Standards, you will leverage technical expertise, problem-solving abilities, and user insights to protect users and partners from abuse across Google products such as Search, Maps, Gmail, and Google Ads. This role requires a big-picture thinker and strategic team player who is passionate about doing what is right. You will work globally and cross-functionally with Google engineers and product managers to combat abuse and fraud with urgency, promoting trust in Google and ensuring the highest levels of user safety.
You will advise internal Google teams on core principles, design policies, and develop standards to mitigate abuse risks and facilitate responsible growth. Additionally, you will engage with subject matter experts and cross-functional stakeholders across Google to devise thoughtful, cross-Product Area strategies for key priorities.

As a critical thinker, you will transform complex problems into scalable solutions and define precise standards for evolving areas of tech policy. You must effectively balance global legal and regulatory requirements with the needs of users, advertisers, creators, and publishers, all while upholding Google’s core values.

They partner with teams across Google to deliver innovative solutions for abuse areas like malware, spam, and account hijacking. Comprising Analysts, Policy Specialists, Engineers, and Program Managers, the team works to reduce risk and combat abuse across all Google products, safeguarding users, advertisers, and publishers worldwide in over 40 languages.
Responsibilities
- Anticipate policy issues affecting product and technology platforms and develop policies and enforcement recommendations to address them.
- Lead, develop, and implement policies for Google products focused on user safety, product quality, and privacy.
- Drive awareness and understanding of product policies within Google and across the user base through research to establish industry standards.
- Influence product decisions and prioritization and enhance user experience for policy-related issues by collaborating with Product Managers, Engineers, and other Trust and Safety (T&S) teams.
- Work with sensitive content or situations, remaining prepared for exposure to graphic, controversial, or upsetting topics or content.
