We are responsible for overseeing products throughout their execution cycle, with a particular focus on analysis, positioning, packaging, promotion, and tailoring solutions for our users.
As a Product Manager, you will significantly contribute to shaping the future of Google Play and Android, ultimately elevating the user experience. Your work will involve executing a product roadmap aligned with our objectives, achieved through collaboration with various cross-functional teams across Google, including Engineering, User Experience (UX), and Marketing.
Google Play provides music, movies, books, apps, and games for devices, all powered by the cloud, syncing seamlessly across various platforms and the web. As a member of the Android and Mobile team, Googlers working on Google Play tackle a broad range of tasks, from engineering backend systems and shaping product strategy to forging valuable content partnerships. They enable users to purchase an ebook or song on their Android phone and have it immediately accessible on their laptop. The Google Play team strengthens the Android ecosystem by offering developers and partners a premium store to reach millions of users.
Responsibilities
- Support Product Requirements Document (PRDs) development by collaborating with partner teams (e.g., engineers, PgMs, UX) during product design and development to implement the requirements.
- Define product roadmaps by operationalizing defined strategy.
- Articulate product goals in a way that captures attention and compels others to drive action despite obstacles.
- Validate the market size and opportunity (e.g., user-based, business generation) while identifying opportunities in the market landscape.
- Facilitate launches, maintenance, and retirement in collaboration with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 3 years of experience in product management or related technical role.
- 1 year of experience taking technical products from conception to launch (e.g., ideation to execution, end-to-end, 0 to 1, etc).
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in a technology or business related field.
- 2 years of experience in a business function or role (e.g., marketing, business operations, or consulting).
- 2 years of experience in a role preparing and delivering technical presentations to executive leadership.
- 2 years of experience working cross-functionally with engineering, UX/UI, sales, finance, and other stakeholders.
- 1 year of experience in software development or engineering.
- Knowledge of accessibility best practices, or continued interest in building and curiosity for incorporating accessibility into product development methodologies.
