Product Counsel Google Cloud Platform Core Products Team
Google is seeking a Product Counsel to join the Google Cloud Platform Core Products Team. This role involves advising on a range of legal and compliance matters for innovative cloud products and infrastructure, supporting enterprise use cases and the developer ecosystem. You will work at the intersection of law and new technology, tackling complex legal challenges and helping to shape the future of cloud computing.
About the Role
As a Product Counsel, you will provide critical legal guidance to clients as they develop new services and features. Your responsibilities will include addressing compliance and regulatory issues, company policies, and business needs. You will help solve complex problems related to policy, AI, privacy, intellectual property, licensing, and security. Furthermore, you will advise on global legal and compliance matters throughout the product launch lifecycle and support commercial legal and sales teams on high-value transactions.

Minimum Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD), Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.), or equivalent degree, or equivalent practical experience.
- Admitted to the bar and in good standing, or otherwise authorized to practice law (e.g., registered in-house status) in the state where the position is located.
- 7 years of attorney-level experience in government, in-house, or at a law firm.
- Experience advising clients on product compliance issues.

- Experience advising enterprise/cloud companies.
- Experience analyzing policy/regulatory proposals and advocating for business-oriented positions and compliance strategies.
- Experience leading projects with clients, colleagues, and advising executive leadership.
- Experience utilizing AI tools to streamline and scale legal support, with an understanding of AI, privacy, and intellectual property law.
- Excellent investigative, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to explain legal issues clearly to non-legal stakeholders.
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic environment and work both independently and collaboratively.
Compensation and Benefits
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $253,000 - $352,000, plus bonus, equity, and benefits. Specific salary will be determined by role, level, and location. Eligible US-based employees receive a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance; 401(k) with company match; generous paid time off (20 days vacation, 40-69 hours sick time); and paid parental leave.
