Product Counsel, Google Cloud AI
In this role, you will join the Cloud AI Product Counsel team at Google, advising on a constantly evolving portfolio of enterprise products, including generative AI offerings. You will work with highly collaborative colleagues who possess top-of-the-market expertise on issues at the forefront of generative AI including regulatory, policy, privacy, security, intellectual property issues, transactions, and more. This position requires a significant understanding of privacy law and major AI regulations, an interest in immersion in a fast-paced and intellectual environment, strong communication and collaboration skills, and the ability to quickly communicate the nexus of legal, business, and technical issues with Product Leadership.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $239,000-$337,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Minimum Qualifications
- JD, LL.B., equivalent degree, or equivalent practical experience.
- Admitted to the bar and in good standing or otherwise authorized to practice law (e.g., have registered in-house status) in the state in which the position is located.
- 7 years of attorney-level experience in government, in-house, or at a law firm.
- Experience advising clients on a variety of product compliance issues in a rapidly evolving environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience analyzing policy/regulatory proposals and advocating business-oriented positions/compliance strategies.
- Experience working on AI related matters/products (particularly enterprise generative AI offerings).
- Experience leading projects with clients and colleagues and directly advising the highest levels of executive leadership.
- Understanding of AI privacy and intellectual property law.

- Advise product leadership on a constantly-evolving portfolio of enterprise level Artificial Intelligence (AI)/Generative AI (GAI) products.
- Resolve AI policy/privacy/security/IP/regulatory issues.
- Support commercial legal and sales teams on high-value, AI transactions.
