About the Job
As a Platform Customer Engineer (CE), you will collaborate with technical sales teams to showcase the value of Google Cloud to customers. You will act as the customer's primary technical partner and trusted advisor, leading technical discussions to understand their business objectives. You will address technical challenges, conduct proofs-of-concept and demos, and architect comprehensive cloud solutions. Your responsibilities will include driving technical wins, defining delivery and consumption plans, and presenting solutions to technical and business leaders. You will possess excellent technical, communication, and organizational skills, with expertise in areas such as infrastructure and application modernization, data analytics, and more. By blending sales acumen, market knowledge, and technical engagement, you will effectively demonstrate the value of the Google Cloud portfolio.
Responsibilities
- Develop and own the technical account plan and strategy, supporting targeted sales motions.
- Utilize sales, programming, and solutions architecture expertise to demonstrate Google Cloud Platform value through demos, pilots, and workshops.
- Architect cross-pillar solutions, drive technical wins, and define initial customer delivery plans, leading technical engagement through the solution phase.
- Facilitate post-sales transitions by supporting pricing activities and handing off the final delivery plan to implementation teams.
- Monitor progress against the delivery plan, offering support to cross-functional teams during ramp, delivery, migration, or implementation phases.
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 6 years of experience with cloud-native architecture in a customer-facing or support role.
- Experience with cloud engineering, on-premise engineering, virtualization, or containerization platforms.
- Experience engaging with, or presenting to, technical stakeholders or executive leaders.
- Experience in programming languages, debugging, systems design, prototyping, demos, or customer workshops.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience selling technical solutions in areas like Infrastructure Modernization, Application Modernization, Data Management, Data Analytics, Cloud AI, Networking, Migrations, or Security.
- Experience driving the entire business cycle (e.g., defining the delivery and consumption plan and transitioning it for execution).
- Experience migrating applications and services to cloud platforms.
- Experience with security concepts (e.g., encryption, identity management, access control, attack vectors, pen testing).
