In gTech Users and Products (gUP), our mission is to advocate for Google’s users by creating helpful and trusted experiences across the product ecosystem. We achieve this by meeting partners and consumers where they are with support and help, representing their needs with our product partners and proposing fixes and features that elevate their engagement with Google's product ecosystem. Additionally we provide a range of product services that ensure our products are optimized for every user, no matter where they are in the world (e.g., localization, digitization, partner integration, and more).
About Digitization Operations
Digitization operations unlocks the world’s offline information through digitization at any scale. We digitize content for Google Books Search, Google Arts and Culture, YouTube, Google Cloud, Google Hardware teams, and Google DeepMind to bring information to users and to support ML development. We plan, set up, and manage industrial-scale facilities, using custom-built equipment and software.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, test and launch internal tools for gTech digitization services.
- Maintain existing tools and hardware infrastructure to support and advance efficiencies and offerings for the operations team to meet partner and customer needs.
- Operate and work with the regional technicians team.
- Develop internal databases, reports, and tools to support operations.
- Analyze work processes to determine inefficiencies and opportunities for automation.
- Collaborate with a global team of support engineers, software developers and operations staff to support a wide range of projects, programs and technologies.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 3 years of experience working with database technologies (e.g., SQL, NoSQL).
- 3 years of experience coding with one or more programming languages (e.g., Java, C/C++, Python).
- Experience troubleshooting technical issues for internal/external partners or customers.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2 years of experience working directly with hardware systems in a laboratory or industrial setting (e.g., robotics, motor controllers, etc.).
- Experience with cross-functional collaboration and working with executive level stakeholders, with the ability to communicate clearly.
- Experience with photography or imaging equipment. Experience with electro/mechanical assembly.
- Experience working with systems (e.g., Linux, Unix).
- Experience with agile software development and artificial intelligence.
Compensation
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $123,000-$176,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
