About the Role: Operations Lead, Violent Extremism Trust & Safety

As an Operations Lead, Violent Extremism Trust & Safety at Google, you will be a pivotal part of the global Trust & Safety team. This team is dedicated to tackling the most significant challenges confronting the safety and integrity of Google's products, including Search, Maps, Gmail, and Google Ads. Leveraging technical expertise, sharp problem-solving skills, and proactive communication, you will safeguard users and partners from abuse.

This role demands a strategic, big-picture thinker with a passion for ethical operations, working globally and cross-functionally with Google engineers and product managers to combat abuse and fraud with urgency. You will contribute daily to promoting trust in Google and ensuring the highest levels of user safety.

As a cross-product abuse analyst specializing in Violent Extremism, you will join a global team ensuring seamless detection and enforcement against online harms, which include child sexual abuse materials, non-consensual intimate imagery, and violent extremism. You will collaborate with policy, product, engineering, and legal teams to design and implement centralized operational solutions for global abuse prevention. This position involves leading a team of abuse experts responsible for enforcing, building, and overseeing comprehensive strategies throughout the entire scaled anti-abuse enforcement workflow life-cycle. You will also partner with technical abuse-fighting experts to streamline workflows, intake processes, and prioritization, developing efficient, scaled processes across various products while implementing operational excellence.

Please note that this role may involve reviewing graphic, controversial, and sometimes offensive content in line with Google's policies.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience in global operations teams, working with multiple stakeholders in a Trust & Safety or tech environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree or PhD in a relevant field.
  • Ability to solve unstructured business problems, working with cross-regional and cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to identify emerging threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (written and verbal) and the ability to influence cross-functionally at various levels.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills with attention to detail in an ever-changing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and implement strategies for the review and enforcement of Violent Extremism global policy.
  • Overhaul existing federated processes into one central operations solution, spanning cross-functional products and platforms.
  • Build policy knowledge and product expertise to develop and implement core strategies and iteratively improve enforcement operations.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across Trust & Safety and other cross-functional teams such as product, engineering, policy, and legal.
