About Google Network Test Engineer
Google is seeking a Network Test Engineer to ensure its massive, growing network performs at peak potential. In this role, you will develop and execute comprehensive test plans, deploy testbeds, and contribute to the design of new networking systems. You will collaborate with development teams, build test automation tools, and certify software releases for global deployment.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field
- 1 year of experience with network equipment and protocols testing
- Experience in test automation using Python or C++
- Familiarity with test methodologies, writing test plans, and creating test cases
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing live networks and testing networking products
- Expertise in network testing, automation, protocols, and troubleshooting
- Proficiency in Unix/Linux operating systems
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive test plans for networking features and systems
- Deploy testbeds and validate networking software infrastructure
- Develop test automation tools and conduct automation testing
- Certify software releases for general deployment
- Collaborate with development teams to design both software and hardware systems
- Manage priorities by determining test case importance and release blockers
- Innovate solutions for open-ended problems as a network test engineering subject-matter expert
