Overview

Google is seeking a Network Design Engineer to design, plan and deploy global network infrastructure. This role involves working with various teams including Technical Program Managers, Network Engineers, Design and Infrastructure Engineers, Field Engineers, and external partners to build the world’s most reliable, cost-effective, and scalable network.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and understand Google's network architecture standards
  • Develop network designs and project plans for global production network
  • Incorporate New Product Introduction (NPI) solutions into plans
  • Contribute to automation roadmaps to reduce cycle times
  • Support standardization of network planning processes and tooling

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Network Engineering, Telecom Engineering or related field
  • Minimum 3 years experience in DWDM, TCP/IP or system design operations
  • Experience collaborating with field operation technicians, engineers, and vendors

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing capacity augmentation and migration projects
  • Expertise in network system design and architecture
  • Skilled in forecasting, planning and using design tools
  • Strong problem solving and cost-benefit analysis skills

Compensation & Location

The US base salary range is $122,000 - $174,000 with bonus, equity, and benefits. Applicants can choose one of the following preferred locations: Thornton, CO; Atlanta, GA; Addison, TX; or Reston, VA.
