Overview
The Network Design Engineer at Google will plan and design Google's production global network and support its deployment, maintenance, and operations worldwide. You will collaborate with Technical Program Managers, engineers, and vendors to ensure a reliable, scalable network infrastructure.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Network or Telecom Engineering or equivalent experience.
- 3 years of experience in DWDM, TCP/IP or system design operations methodology.
- Experience with field operation technicians, engineers, contractors, or vendors.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing scaled capacity augment/migration projects.
- Expertise in network system design, architecture, and infrastructure.
- Proficiency in defining system requirements and integrating large-scale network systems.
- Experience with planning tools, automation tooling and process improvement.
- Strong problem solving, cost-benefit analysis, and data analysis skills.
Responsibilities
- Review and understand Google's network architecture standards.
- Produce plans and designs meeting global production network requirements.
- Design solutions, create project plans, and communicate with internal partners.
- Integrate New Product Introduction (NPI) solutions into plans and designs.
- Contribute to team automation to reduce cycle time and improve quality.
- Establish practices and policies for improved performance and reduced risk.
Compensation and Benefits
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $122,000-$174,000 plus bonus, equity, and benefits. These figures are determined by role, level, and location, with additional factors including experience and education.
Location Options
Candidates can choose their preferred working location from Thornton, CO; Atlanta, GA; Addison, TX; or Reston, VA, USA.
