Job Description
About the Role: Interaction Designer, YouTube Commerce
At Google, the guiding principle is "Focus on the user and all else will follow." As an Interaction Designer, YouTube Commerce, you will transform complex tasks into intuitive, user-friendly experiences for a global audience. Your role will span the entire design process, from initial user flows and wireframes to crafting user interface mockups and prototypes, ultimately bringing innovative product visions to life with inspiration and refinement.
The Google User Experience (UX) team is a diverse group comprising UX Designers, Researchers, Writers, Content Strategists, Program Managers, and Engineers, all deeply committed to understanding and advocating for our users. This team plays a crucial role in gathering insights into user attitudes, emotions, and behaviors to inform and inspire design. Collaboration is key, as we work closely across disciplines and with engineering and product management to develop industry-leading products that deliver significant value to both users and Google's businesses.
Specifically, as an Interaction Designer, you will apply user-centered design methodologies to create cutting-edge user experiences from conception through execution. You'll partner with fellow designers to evolve and leverage the Google design language, producing visually appealing, innovative, and beloved products.
As a YouTube Commerce Designer, your focus will be on building scalable purchase experiences and maintaining a compliant Figma library. You will ensure commerce patterns align with YouTube’s global design language, guaranteeing consistent, high-quality transaction experiences.
At YouTube, we believe in the power of every voice and that community is built through shared stories. We are dedicated to empowering individuals to share their narratives, explore passions, and connect globally. Operating at the intersection of advanced technology and creative innovation, we move with cultural speed, aiming to show the world. This involves exploring new ideas, solving real-world problems, and fostering a collaborative, enjoyable work environment.
