About the Incident Response Security Consultant Role

As an Incident Response Security Consultant at Google, you will help clients prepare for, mitigate, detect, and respond to cybersecurity threats. The role involves collaborating with both internal and customer teams during investigations, performing forensic analysis, threat hunting, malware triage, and testing client infrastructures.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with internal and customer teams to investigate and contain incidents.
• Conduct host and network forensics, log analysis, and malware triage.
• Recognize and codify attacker TTPs and IOCs for use in investigations.
• Test client networks, applications, and devices by emulating attack techniques.
• Communicate technical findings to technical staff, executives, and legal counsel.

Minimum & Preferred Qualifications

Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field, 3 years of investigative experience (network forensics, malware triage, cloud forensics or disk/memory forensics), and the ability to travel up to 25%. Fluency in English is required. Preferred qualifications include certifications in cloud platforms and experience with security competitions and testing platforms such as Hack the Box, TryHackMe, and others.
