About the Role

The Head of Operations, Federal Government, Google Cloud leads a large, complex private cloud transformation program for a critical Australian Federal Government customer. This role is similar to a Chief Operating Officer with a laser focus on operational governance and program execution.

Minimum & Preferred Qualifications

Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Finance or related field, with 13 years of senior operations or program management experience. Experience includes customer/client-facing roles and data analysis to generate business insights. NV1 clearance under the Australian Government PSPF is required.

Preferred: MBA or Master’s degree with 13 years of experience in problem-solving, third-party vendor management, user documentation & training, and resolving complex issues. Ability to build strong stakeholder relationships is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute an operational strategy to drive efficiency.
  • Oversee finance, HR, supply chain, and resource planning.
  • Manage program budgets, financial health, and enforce cost controls.
  • Establish a robust governance framework and report program performance.
  • Identify, mitigate, and resolve operational and technical risks.

About Google Cloud in Australia

Google Australia Public Sector, Delivery and Operations team delivers and secures private cloud services, ensuring high security for the Federal Government. This role is central to coordinating and integrating multiple functions to deliver a successful program.
