About the Financial Analyst, YouTube Creator Ecosystem and Monetization Role at Google
As a Financial Analyst at Google, you will play a crucial role in ensuring sound financial decisions are made. Your work, encompassing business scenario modeling and performance metric tracking, will directly inform strategic company decisions by leadership. This position requires you to manage multiple projects concurrently, maintain meticulous attention to detail, and devise creative solutions for complex challenges.
<Specifically, in this role, you will develop financial models and conduct strategic analyses to explore key business questions affecting the YouTube Creator Ecosystem. You will lead projects, offer analytical support, and formulate a Finance point of view (POV) for various creator-centric initiatives, including brand sponsorships and paid creator promotion. A significant part of your responsibility will be to understand the cause-and-effect relationship between product updates or strategic investments and creator earnings across different platforms and products. These insights will be vital for informing decision-making and contributing to both long-term and annual financial planning.
You will act as a key contributor within a dynamic environment, analyzing financial data to generate data-driven solutions and effectively communicating these insights to leadership. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in complex financial modeling, the ability to identify business issues, and strong collaboration skills to partner effectively with cross-functional teams, including product activation/Go-To-Market (GTM) and product teams. You should be organized, entrepreneurial, and proactive, capable of making well-reasoned recommendations even with ambiguous or incomplete data.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and model the financial impact of diverse strategic funding initiatives, distribution deals, and incentive programs. Develop data-driven Finance POVs to maximize YouTube's long-term value.
- Manage discretionary tracking for relevant programs and collaborate with the CAC team to integrate new information into the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and Long Range Plan (LRP).
- Support cross-functional decision-making for new spending initiatives and business trade-offs. Represent the Finance POV to guide the organization towards optimal long-term outcomes, ensuring financial considerations are integrated into product launches and GTM efforts impacting creator monetization.
- Employ structured thinking, complex modeling, and investigative insights to influence the core economics of emerging initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or another quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 4 years of experience in financial planning and analysis (FP&A), consulting, or a related function, or an advanced degree.
- Experience executing full-cycle FP&A functions, including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and modeling within a multinational company setting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in management consulting, investment banking, finance, corporate strategy, or a similar environment.
- Proficiency with SQL or similar database querying languages and understanding of database schema.
- Ability to take initiative in an unstructured environment; comfortable with ambiguity and managing multiple projects.
- Excellent investigative and spreadsheet software modeling skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and analysis skills, combined with business judgment, leadership skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with executives and senior management teams.
