Google is seeking a Data Scientist for the Ecosystem Experiences Data Science (EEDS) team to drive growth across the ecosystem via discovery, connectivity, and seamless platforms. This role involves embedding a deep, empirical understanding of user behavior into the product development lifecycle to create more engaging, AI-first experiences.

The Ecosystem Experiences Data Science (EEDS) team's mission is to deliver the best of Google's products to our users by driving growth across the ecosystem via discovery, connectivity, and seamless platforms. We are a team of data scientists who work to embed a deep, empirical understanding of user behavior into the product development lifecycle, enabling our product partners to build more engaging, AI-first experiences that drive sustainable growth.
The EEDS team is responsible for high-impact areas, including optimizing user journeys to help users discover and experience the most valuable products and features early on and throughout their lifecycle. Reducing friction between products and people to create richer, more connected experiences across the Google portfolio. Defining the future of personalized, intelligent discovery and multi-product journeys in an AI-driven era.
Responsibilities
- Resolve complex problem-solving challenges focused on user discovery and connectivity through the application of statistical and best practices.
- Analyze user behavior and cross-platform trends to deliver actionable insights on ecosystem dynamics across various segments, devices, and products.
- Collaborate with product, engineering, and UX to define evaluation metrics and experimentation frameworks for AI-driven user journeys.
- Create clear data visualizations and documentation to communicate logic to stakeholders, while prioritizing high-impact projects within a dynamic portfolio.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Engineering, Physics, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
- 5 years of experience with analysis applications (e.g., extracting insights, performing statistical analysis, or solving business problems), and coding (e.g., Python, R, SQL) or 2 years of experience with an advanced degree.
- 2 years of experience using analytics to solve product or business problems, coding (e.g., Python, R, SQL), querying databases, or statistical analysis.
- Experience in translating analysis results into product recommendations and business questions into an analysis framework.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Engineering, Physics, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
- Experience in framing and solving unstructured business problems with data science, translating results into impactful business recommendations, and measuring the success of those initiatives.
- Experience with AI evaluation techniques.
