Data Infrastructure Engineer at Google
This role is central to Google Customer Solutions (GCS), supporting the core data infrastructure for Sales and Partner teams. As a Data Infrastructure Engineer, you will play a crucial role in enabling data-driven decision-making and driving business growth for small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs).
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 3 years of experience analyzing data and creating reports, and with database query (e.g., SQL) and visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, dashboards).
- Experience with one or more general purpose programming languages (e.g., Python, C/C++, Java).
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in a quantitative or a related field.
- Knowledge of data visualization and dashboard tools (i.e., Tableau, PowerBI, or Looker).
- Familiarity with Google Ads products.
- Ability to manage multiple projects with varying priorities.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills to deliver findings of analysis.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills.
About The Job
The Product and Sales Activation (PSA) team within Google Customer Solutions (GCS) is dedicated to performance and brand solutions for SMB advertisers globally. This team acts as the product and business experts, empowering thousands of GCS Googlers to drive sustainable business growth and product adoption. You will identify opportunities through analysis, build consensus with stakeholders, and manage cross-functional programs to ensure GCS advertiser success.
In this role, you will be responsible for building and maintaining the core data infrastructure that underpins our Sales and Partner team operations. You will enable these teams to execute product objectives by collaborating with cross-functional teams and driving aspects of data infrastructure and solution design and development. This includes requirements gathering, testing, documentation, training, implementation, ongoing support, and maintenance.

Responsibilities
- Operate a stable infrastructure, working closely with Engineering teams and partners to continuously drive process improvements across various cross-functional partners.
- Develop and maintain data models, pipelines, and SQL scripts to assist in the visualization, analysis, and interpretation of data.
- Perform data analysis and profiling using relevant tools, leveraging the data infrastructure and existing data models with minimal guidance.
- Work with clients to identify their needs, clarify requirements, and enable data-driven decision-making by collecting, transforming, and publishing data.
- Follow and improve upon technical best practices, including making data discoverable, considering the lifecycle of data, and effectively managing master data.
