About the Role
Google is seeking a Data Center Technician Early Career to join its Hardware Operations team. In this role, you will install, configure, test, troubleshoot, and maintain hardware such as servers and networking equipment, as well as the associated Linux operating systems. You will also participate in larger projects, work on data center infrastructure, and contribute to making Google data centers energy efficient and sustainable.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience. Experience with installing a Network or Linux system and understanding key concepts. Hands-on troubleshooting skills in operating systems, computer hardware, and server hardware.
Preferred Qualifications
- Practical understanding of Linux and networking installation, administration, and troubleshooting.
- Experience with hardware architecture, maintenance, and repair.
- Knowledge of networking topology and protocol concepts.
- Strong team collaboration and communication skills.
- Ability to quickly learn new technical skills and domains.
Responsibilities
- Identify trends for machine failure and report bugs.
- Collaborate with remote teams to resolve technical issues.
- Deploy, maintain, and support data center infrastructure projects.
