About the Data Analytics Sales Specialist, Public Sector Role at Google

As a Data Analytics Sales Specialist, Public Sector, you will play a pivotal role in growing Google's Data Analytics business by fostering and expanding relationships with both new and existing customers. Your primary objective will be to deliver tangible business value to customers by pitching and demonstrating product functionality and providing comprehensive overviews of key business use cases. You will lead day-to-day interactions with cross-functional team members, serving as a solution lead within the sales organization. This role involves spearheading go-to-market strategies and sales plays, managing campaigns, and providing crucial feedback to the Product and Global Solutions Teams to inform the product solutions roadmap. You will be instrumental in shaping customers' cloud and data analytics strategies and enabling their digital transformation, always leading with empathy while identifying innovative ways to maximize your impact and the team's overall value for Google Cloud.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience in a sales role within the enterprise software or cloud space.
  • Demonstrated experience selling data analytics or data management technologies to clients.
  • Proficiency with big data technologies or concepts, including analytics warehousing, data processing, data transformation, data governance, data migrations, ETL, ELT, SQL, NoSQL, and performance or scalability optimizations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in developing data warehousing, data lakes, batch/real-time event processing, streaming, data processing (ETL/ELT), data migrations, data visualization tools, and data governance on cloud native architectures.
  • Adept at collaborating with internal and external teams, such as account teams, technical leads, procurement, and legal, to build strong cases for transformation with implementation plans and to successfully close agreements.
  • Experience in supporting executive relationships and developing new territories/accounts.
  • Proven ability to prioritize and plan sales activity and transformation strategies effectively.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of trends, products, and solutions in cloud and Data and Analytics (e.g., BigQuery, Looker, Dataproc, Pub/Sub), and with various data analytics technology stacks.

Responsibilities

  • Cultivate robust relationships with customers, acting as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor, managing business cycles, identifying solution use cases, and influencing the long-term direction of accounts.
  • Achieve or exceed quota and business and growth goals while accurately forecasting and reporting your territory’s business performance.
  • Collaborate strategically with Google accounts and cross-functional teams (e.g., customer engineering, marketing, customer success, product, engineering, channels) to develop impactful go-to-market strategies, drive pipeline and business growth, close agreements, deeply understand the customer, and ensure an excellent prospect and customer experience.
  • Execute comprehensive account plans, including a broader enterprise plan across key industries, with a focus on building and expanding accounts.
  • Manage multiple customers and opportunities concurrently, demonstrating a deep understanding of each customer’s technology footprint and strategy, growth plans, business drivers, key performers, and how Google technologies can transform their business.
