Customer Engineering Manager, Financial Services, Google Cloud AI at Google

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 10 years of experience with cloud native architecture in a customer-facing or support role.
- Experience managing, mentoring, or coaching a quota-carrying team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the financial services industry.
- Experience with software lifecycles, building tools, and architecting and developing software for scalable distributed systems, including data platforms, AI/ML, and infrastructure.
- Experience managing a team through sales processes, operations, and career development, including account mapping, quota setting, quarterly/annual performance management, and managing sensitive information.
- Experience engaging with, and presenting to, technical stakeholders and executive leaders, including tailoring and delivering compelling messages by audience, asking strategic questions, and leading conversations that drive business opportunity.

You liaise with the product marketing management and engineering teams to stay on top of industry trends and devise enhancements to Google Cloud products.
As a Customer Engineering Manager, Financial Services, Google Cloud AI, you will lead a team of pre-sales engineers who engage with sales prospects, discover and assess customer requirements, prepare and present demonstrations of Google’s Cloud services, and address and overcome technical objections that arise throughout the sales process.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $186,000-$261,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Sales and Customer Engineering (CE) management to determine proper staffing levels to support business goals, establish job requisitions, assemble applicant pool, and lead interview team to fill open positions.
- Assess CE team’s go-to-market readiness, identify gaps in CE preparedness, and build plans to ensure the CE team is properly trained and equipped to successfully perform in support of annualized business goals.
- Work with Google Cloud Sales team leadership to identify, qualify, and prioritize coverage for business opportunities. Participate in periodic opportunity review meetings providing insight into how to best secure technical success.
- Work with the sales account team, customer support, product management, customer solutions, and engineering to resolve product problems affecting pre- and post-sales customer satisfaction.
- Travel as required.
