Overview
The Customer Engineer, Digital Native, Google Cloud role involves working directly with technical business teams to showcase the power of Google Cloud. The successful candidate will advise on cloud-native architecture through customer engagements, proofs-of-concept and troubleshooting technical challenges.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience. 6 years of experience with cloud native architecture in a customer-facing or support role. Experience engaging with technical stakeholders and executive leaders. Experience with cloud infrastructure engineering, on-premise infrastructure engineering, virtualization, or containerization platforms.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in migrating applications and services to cloud platforms. Familiarity with networking concepts (software-defined networking, routing, VPNs, load balancers, firewalls). Experience with relational databases, NoSQL databases, and big data technologies such as SQL Server, Postgres, Spark, Hadoop etc. Knowledge of load balancing, DNS, VPN applications within PaaS and IaaS. Understanding of security concepts including encryption, identity management, access control, attack vectors, and pen testing.
Role Responsibilities
- Identify and qualify business opportunities while resolving technical blockers.
- Share enterprise infrastructure modernization knowledge with customers.
- Demonstrate Google Cloud product integrations and prototype solutions.
- Guide legacy application assessments and provide modernization roadmaps.
- Recommend integration strategies, architectures, and infrastructure solutions.
About the Team
The role collaborates with sales, product marketing, and engineering teams. It is instrumental in supporting customer relationships and bridging technical requirements with innovative Google Cloud solutions.
