About the Role
The Cloud Engineer I, Application Modernization at Google will transform enterprise applications into modern, cloud native solutions. This role involves designing cloud enterprise solutions, coding in languages such as Python, Java, Go, C or C++, and supporting customer projects from plan to execution.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
- 3 years leading enterprise application portfolios
- Experience with VMWare, Openshift, Kubernetes, etc.
- Experience designing cloud enterprise solutions and customer projects
- Coding experience in one or more general purpose languages
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience refactoring monolithic applications to microservices, APIs, or serverless models
- Experience architecting and developing production-grade cloud solutions
- Proven experience in application modernization projects
- Proficiency with data structures, algorithms, and software design
- Familiarity with unit or automated testing tools
Responsibilities
- Serve as a trusted technical advisor to Google Cloud strategic customers
- Develop and execute enterprise application transformation and migration strategies
- Create best practice recommendations, tutorials, blog articles, and sample code
- Travel up to 30% for technical reviews, meetings, and onsite activities

Compensation
This full-time role has a base salary range of $123,000 to $176,000 plus bonus, equity, and benefits. Compensation is based on role, level, location, skills, experience and education.
Working Locations
Candidates may choose from Atlanta, GA, USA; Austin, TX, USA; Boulder, CO, USA; or Chicago, IL, USA.
