About the Business Analyst, gTech Role at Google
Google's leadership team identifies complex business challenges, which members of BizOps tackle in small, dedicated teams. As a Business Analyst, gTech, you will deeply engage with data collection, extract critical insights through analysis, and then synthesize these findings into compelling recommendations. Your role extends to persuasively communicating these recommendations to senior-level executives, actively assisting in implementation, and tracking the impact of your suggestions.
Specifically, you will provide data-driven insights and problem-solving support to the gTech Ads organization. Your focus will be on resolving strategic and operational issues by working with extensive internal data sets. This involves conceptualizing and developing problem-solving solutions, generating actionable data insights, translating them into concrete recommendations, and influencing crucial business decisions.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Math, Quantitative Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 3 years of experience in data analytics, consulting, data science, engineering, or a technical operations role.
- 3 years of experience in statistical problem solving and analyzing data sets using SQL or comparable coding languages (e.g., Python, R, Java, C++).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a Sales or Customer Service environment.
- Understanding of engineering practices, including the development of BRDs/PRDs/Design Docs, checking in and reviewing code.
- Knowledge of data analysis tools (R, Python) and techniques (experimental analysis, predictive modeling, machine learning).
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize data into useful formats and deliver actionable insights through effective communication.
