About The Role
The Associate Principal, Business Operations and Strategy team drives operational and organizational improvements across Google’s product areas and functions. Operating like an internal consulting group for Google's leadership, this team, also known as Business Operations (BizOps), works on a range of critical and high-priority projects and issues. BizOps works in small teams to find solutions to pressing topics such as shaping how Google goes to market with generative AI, defining and executing company-wide priorities like operational excellence and sustainability, developing business generation strategies across consumer and Business-to-Business (B2B) products, and exploring “moonshots” for future innovations. The BizOps team is at the forefront of Google's fast-moving priorities, addressing operational issues and enabling innovation.
In this role, you will own workstreams and analyses, becoming the expert on key topics and data. You will communicate recommendations to executives and influence decisions by building consensus and mobilizing towards execution. You will build lasting relationships with colleagues across Alphabet, enabling rapid and cross-functional execution. You will also be part of a tight-knit community with a focus on mentorship, learning, and development.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience in management consulting at the project lead or managerial level or equivalent experience in corporate strategy.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree in a management, technical, or engineering field.
- 5 years of experience in a management consulting firm with a performance trajectory.
- Experience in technology, media, or a telecom company or education in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).
- Experience in strategy or in a business operations environment, leading client projects and owning operational initiatives.
- Experience guiding consultants and excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Excellent problem-solving, modeling, and presentation skills.
Responsibilities
- Structure ambiguous business issues for the Google executive team.
- Gather and analyze information quickly and solve problems effectively.
- Develop compelling and insightful recommendations.
- Build consensus among cross-functional teams and influence decision making within leadership audiences.
- Work with product managers, leadership, and functions to operationalize recommendations.
Compensation and Benefits
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $144,000-$211,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
