Minimum Qualifications
- JD, LL.B., equivalent degree, or equivalent practical experience.
- 3 years of attorney-level experience in government, in-house, or law firm.
- Qualified lawyer in Canada with experience in private practice or in-house.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5 years of commercial legal experience drafting and negotiating agreements.
- Experience supporting sales organizations and handling procurement processes.
- Familiarity with online technologies including cloud computing and Google products.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills, including professional-level French.
About the Role
As Associate Corporate Counsel on the Canadian legal team at Google, you will: review, draft, and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements (cloud services, reseller, professional services, etc.), advise internal clients on legal risks and compliance, and ensure product and operational alignment with Canadian laws. You will be engaged in support for Google Cloud business in Canada and work on go-to-market, marketing and policy initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Review, draft, and negotiate various commercial agreements.
- Respond to legal requests from internal clients and advise on risks.
- Ensure compliance with Canadian laws and work with external counsel.
- Support additional legal initiatives across business lines in Canada.
Compensation
The Canada base salary range for this full-time role is CAD 216,000-221,000 plus bonus, equity, and benefits. Compensation is determined by role, level, location, experience, and education.
