About The Role: Associate, Business Operations and Strategy
The central Business Operations and Strategy (BizOps) team at Google drives strategic, operational, and organizational improvements across the company’s product areas and functions. Operating as an internal consulting group, the BizOps team tackles a wide range of critical projects and issues, directly influencing Google's strategic direction.
Google's leadership team assigns challenging business problems to BizOps, where members work in small teams to develop innovative solutions. These initiatives span various critical areas, including shaping go-to-market strategies for generative AI, defining and executing company-wide operational excellence, developing product pricing strategies, and exploring ambitious 'moonshot' ideas for future growth. BizOps is consistently at the forefront of Google's rapidly evolving strategic priorities, addressing complex operational challenges and enabling groundbreaking innovation.
In this dynamic role, you will take ownership of problem definition, conduct your own workstreams and analyses, and become the recognized expert on key topics and data. You will be responsible for persuasively communicating your recommendations to executives, influencing strategic decisions by building consensus, and mobilizing teams towards successful execution. You will cultivate strong, lasting relationships with colleagues across Alphabet, facilitating rapid, cross-functional project delivery. As part of BizOps, you will also benefit from a close-knit community focused on mentorship, continuous learning, and professional development.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 3 years of experience in management consulting or other equivalent business strategy experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3 years of experience at a management consulting firm.
- Experience in strategy or in a business operations environment.
- Experience working on complex operational and strategic initiatives.
- Experience in tech, media, a telecom company, or education in STEM.
- Excellent problem-solving, modeling, and presentation skills.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
Responsibilities
- Structure ambiguous business issues for the Google executive team.
- Gather and analyze information quickly and solve problems effectively.
- Develop compelling and insightful recommendations.
- Build consensus among cross-functional teams and influence decision-making within leadership audiences.
- Work with product managers, leadership, and functions to operationalize recommendations.
