Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience. 5 years of experience testing, maintaining, and/or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture. 5 years of experience in software development. Experience with Kubernetes. Experience in languages such as Java, C++, Go, Python, or full-stack development. Active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmentalized Information (TS/SCI) security clearance with polygraph.

Preferred Qualifications

Certifications in Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD), Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), or Certified Kubernetes Security Specialist (CKS). 5 years of experience with data structures/algorithms. 1 year of experience in a technical leadership role. Experience with AI, deep learning, or natural language processing. Experience developing accessible technologies.

About the Job

Google Public Sector's Sovereign Mission Solutions team builds solutions for public sector clients using Google Cloud technologies. The team develops products that offer automation, repeatable patterns, and intelligent insights powered by advanced data analytics and Generative AI. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will design, develop, and deploy solutions tailored to the public sector while maintaining the necessary government security clearances.

Responsibilities

  • Develop prototypes and build both front-end and back-end systems for greenfield projects.
  • Collaborate with GPS Sovereign Engineering and Google Distribute Cloud Engineering to identify pain points and propose improvements.
  • Lead architecture and engineering design discussions with peers and stakeholders.
  • Review code and provide constructive feedback on best practices.
  • Communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
