As a Software Engineer on the Gemini Audio Data Infrastructure team at Google DeepMind, you will be instrumental in advancing generative AI capabilities by focusing on audio data and its underlying infrastructure. - Lead the strategic design and end-to-end execution of long-term projects to advance Gemini Audio capabilities and scale foundational data infrastructure.
- Architect and conduct complex experiments by optimizing high-throughput data pipelines and loaders, managing Gemini model training and evaluation cycles.
- Deliver data-driven insights to inform technical strategy and drive the integration of high-impact data enhancements into Gemini’s pre-training and post-training mixtures.
- Ensure the continuous delivery of high-quality data to improve model performance and capabilities.
- Deliver mission-critical initiatives with agility, effectively navigating evolving requirements and time-sensitive deadlines while maintaining high standards of technical excellence and project momentum.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of coding experience in C, C++, Java, or Python.
- 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
- 3 years of experience with ML infrastructure (e.g., model deployment, model evaluation, optimization, data processing, debugging).
- 1 year of experience with state-of-the-art GenAI techniques (e.g., LLMs, multi-modal, large vision models) or with GenAI-related concepts (language modeling, computer vision).
- Work or educational experience in machine learning or artificial intelligence.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
- 5 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
- 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional or cross-business projects.
- Experience developing accessible technologies.
