About the Role
Goldman Sachs is seeking a Vice President - Core Engineering Data Architect to lead the design and implementation of enterprise-level data strategies. In this role, you will define, design, and oversee data solutions that ensure data integrity, accessibility, security, and compliance across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute data strategy and architectural roadmaps.
- Design scalable, fault-tolerant data pipelines and systems.
- Establish data governance, quality, and security standards.
- Lead advanced data modeling and database design initiatives.
- Evaluate emerging data technologies and drive their adoption.
- Optimize system performance and scalability for growing data volumes.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to data teams.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve business alignment.
- Oversee incident response and troubleshoot critical data issues.
Qualifications
Minimum 14 years of experience in data engineering or data architecture; Bachelor’s or Master’s in a related field; Hands-on cloud experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure; Expertise in big data technologies including Apache Spark, Hadoop, and Kafka; Strong programming skills (Python, Scala, Java, SQL); and experience with ETL/ELT, data modeling, and infrastructure as code tools.
