Job Summary
The Sustainable Investing Group (SIG) at Goldman Sachs's Asset & Wealth Management division is a platform for direct equity investing in private markets, dedicated to playing a critical role in climate transition and inclusive growth opportunities. SIG leverages decades of experience, a strong investment track record, and a proprietary Corporate Network, all supported by the extensive resources of Goldman Sachs. The Horizon Environmental & Climate Solutions fund, a growth-oriented private equity strategy, focuses on investing in key sectors driving environmental sustainability and climate transition.
Responsibilities
- Spearhead all aspects of due diligence and analysis for potential investments.
- Lead detailed financial modeling to support crucial investment decision-making.
- Develop robust investment and impact theses for new markets and opportunities.
- Draft comprehensive investment memoranda and present findings to the Investment Committee.
- Support portfolio management and drive operational uplifts at the portfolio company level.
Qualifications
- Possess strong analytical and financial modeling skills.
- Demonstrate a passion for impact investing, specifically within target sectors like clean energy, sustainable transport, sustainable food & agriculture, waste & materials, and ecosystem services.
- Exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Maintain a flexible, creative, and entrepreneurial mindset.
- Show the ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Be capable of interacting and building strong relationships with a wide variety of people.
Salary & Benefits
The expected base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based Sustainable Investing Associate position is $150,000-$225,000. In addition, eligible employees may receive a discretionary bonus as an active employee at fiscal year-end.
