About the Role
Goldman Sachs is seeking a Senior Product Manager to join the Financial Crime Compliance (FCC) team. This role focuses on transforming KYC (Know Your Customer) platforms within a highly regulated financial environment. You will be instrumental in driving product strategy, ensuring regulatory compliance, and leveraging innovative technologies like AI and machine learning.
Job Summary & Responsibilities
The Financial Crime Compliance team is responsible for coordinating enterprise-wide anti-money laundering (AML), economic sanctions, e-communications, and anti-bribery compliance efforts. This Senior Product Manager role requires expertise in product ownership, management, design, and deep knowledge of KYC rules and regulations. You will work closely with senior leadership, cross-functional teams, and engineering stakeholders to ensure our KYC products meet and exceed regulatory requirements and customer expectations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the KYC Product Management and Change teams.
- Serving as the firmwide product owner to develop and lead the product strategy for KYC compliance solutions.
- Overseeing the product roadmap, prioritizing initiatives based on regulatory changes, program priority, business needs, and emerging capabilities (e.g., generative and agentic AI solutions).
- Collaborating with senior leadership to shape the long-term vision for the KYC product portfolio.
- Coordinating the drafting of requirements, criteria for success, and acceptance criteria.
- Working with change management teams to implement new system features.
Principal Responsibilities
- Develop product strategy for KYC solutions.
- Collaborate with senior leadership across Compliance, Operations, Engineering, and the Business to execute on the strategic vision for KYC systems.
- Understand regulatory and firm KYC requirements to ensure products are fully in compliance with global regulatory standards.
- Understand firm products and services, and divisional systems, to define and deliver system functionality.
- Write and refine product requirements in partnership with Operations and Engineering teams.
- Work with Change Management teams to appropriately plan and release new functionality.
- Ensure stakeholder awareness of new and existing KYC system functionality.
- Manage a team of Product Managers.
Basic Qualifications
- Degree (Bachelors/Masters) in a related field (Legal, Finance, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Product Management, Engineering, or related quantitative disciplines).
- At least 10 years of working experience in a product management role at a global, highly regulated financial institution.
- Firm understanding of Know Your Customer regulations, and preferably at least 10 years of experience working in a Know Your Customer role (Operations, Execution, Compliance, Legal).
- Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLookups) and PowerPoint.
- Understanding of data structures and query languages such as SQL.
- Knowledge of Data Quality and Data Analysis methodologies.
- Ability to communicate Compliance requirements for consumption by Engineering and other cross-functional partners.
- Experience using JIRA and writing business requirements.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Willingness to adapt in a fast-paced work environment; strong sense of urgency.
- Strong work ethic.
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical skills (Alteryx, SQL, R, Python, Tableau).
- Awareness and experience working with AML trends and typologies.
- Experience building and enhancing existing processes (including via the use of AI, machine learning, and graph networks).
