About the Operations Analyst Role at Goldman Sachs
Operations partners with all areas of Goldman Sachs to deliver our institutional, consumer and asset management businesses and to provide a seamless experience for our clients. For every trade agreed, every new product launched or market entered, every transaction completed, it is Operations that enables business to flow.
We manage and process our clients' business, including onboarding, post-trade processing and regulatory compliance. Our teams work closely across the firm to develop and deliver new products and services, while mitigating operational risk and enhancing the client experience. We drive process and technology change to scale and and automate our businesses.
Key Areas of Operations Support
Operations at Goldman Sachs encompasses several critical areas:
- Asset Management Operations: Provides customized service to clients and supports the growth of the Asset Management franchise across traditional and alternative products. Teams operate within a front-to-back model, supporting client, product, and investment lifecycles, and conducting risk oversight, change management, business intelligence, and market solutions.
- Wealth Management Operations: Manages service, delivery, and processing for Ultra-High Net Worth, High Net Worth, and Mass Affluent businesses, offering front-to-back operational support across trade and client lifecycles.
- FICC and Equities Operations: Delivers client onboarding support, post-trade transaction services, and post-trade portfolio services for FICC (Fixed Income, Currencies, and Commodities) and Equities.
- Client Experience Operations: Focuses on managing key client relationships to enhance the client experience from front to back, supporting FICC and Equities in developing and delivering new products, services, and markets.
- Corporate Treasury Operations: Handles payment processing, liquidity, cash management, and bank relationship management for institutional, retail, and corporate clients, as well as firm-wide flows.
- Regulatory & Control Operations: Oversees the integrity of the firm's books and records, ensuring compliance with global client money, regulatory, and tax reporting obligations.
Basic Qualifications for an Operations Analyst
- Bachelor's degree
- 0-3 years of prior work experience in a relevant field.
- Proficient to advanced skills with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and follow-through
- Strong ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines
- Team player with positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to adapt quickly to a variety of industries and businesses
- Ability to self-direct, analyze and evaluate and form independent judgments
- Ability to effectively interact and build relationships with senior management and global stakeholders
- Commercially savvy with ability to exercise discretion with respect to highly confidential/sensitive information
