Overview

Goldman Sachs is seeking a Legal Artificial Intelligence Attorney Vice President working at the intersection of finance and law. You will provide counsel on litigation, arbitration, research, due diligence, financing, and legal filings. This role is part of the Technology Legal team, based in New York or Dallas.

Business Unit And Role Overview

This position focuses on advising on legal and regulatory issues related to artificial intelligence. You will act as a subject matter expert on AI procurement, development, management, and integration into firm products and services. Key responsibilities include advising on AI use for data training and applications, as well as managing risks associated with AI systems.

Responsibilities

  • Advise on AI regulation and governance for business units.
  • Provide legal support for AI applications and model development.
  • Interpret emerging AI laws, including EU AI Act and GDPR.
  • Support attorneys integrating AI into products and platforms.
  • Collaborate with experts on privacy, cybersecurity, and intellectual property.
  • Advise affiliates globally on AI, data protection and cybersecurity.
  • Support risk management and build AI control systems.

Skills / Experience

  • Licensed and Barred Attorney with minimum 5 years experience.
  • Expertise in technology law and financial services AI regulation.
  • Knowledge of GDPR and global data protection regulations.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and legal research abilities.
  • Effective communication across all organizational levels.
  • Proven leadership, project management, and training experience.

Salary & Benefits

The base salary for this role ranges from $170,000 to $270,000 with potential discretionary bonus eligibility. The firm offers competitive benefits, wellness programs, and various employee development opportunities.
