Internal Audit Associate - Quality Assurance at Goldman Sachs

At Goldman Sachs, the Internal Audit team ensures effective controls by assessing the reliability of financial reports, monitoring compliance with laws and regulations, and advising management on smart control solutions. In this role, you will perform independent reviews, support risk-focused assurance work, and help improve auditing practices.

Team Overview

The Professional Practice Group (PPG) includes quality assurance, practices, learning and development, and transformation activities. As a member, you will collaborate with various disciplines and have the opportunity to specialize in delivering high-quality assurance work.

Responsibilities

  • Execute independent reviews to assess compliance with internal audit methodology and regulatory standards.
  • Conduct thematic reviews to identify process enhancement opportunities.
  • Support initiatives to improve audit practices and methodology efficiency.
  • Develop communication tools to disseminate best practices and updates.
  • Assist internal auditors by providing day-to-day support and guidance.
  • Deliver training to enhance auditing and methodology skills.

Skills & Relevant Experience

The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of experience in public accounting or internal audit within financial services, a strong understanding of risk and controls, excellent problem-solving and communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure. A degree in finance, accounting, or a quantitative discipline is required, and professional certifications such as CPA, CISA, or CIA are strongly preferred.
