Investments are made on behalf of Goldman Sachs, its employees, and firm clients through various investment vehicles and strategies.

About AWM Finance Group

Within AWM, the Finance group provides crucial support to each asset management business. This includes managing the valuation process (e.g., recommending appropriate quarter-end equity and debt valuations) and analyzing, budgeting, and projecting business performance. This Divisional CFO Analyst, Asset & Wealth Management Private position will be integral to the AWM Finance group, assisting in both the monthly/quarterly valuation process and the annual budgeting cycle.

Position Description

The successful Divisional CFO Analyst, Asset & Wealth Management Private will possess a strong ability to interpret financial information, identify key relationships, and proactively raise issues or concerns. This role demands a high degree of integrity, meticulous attention to detail, and a highly motivated, client-focused approach. You will provide essential support to senior team members on a variety of tasks, including recurring responsibilities, project-based work, and ad hoc financial analyses.

Specific Responsibilities May Include

  • Determining and substantiating appropriate fair market values across diverse investing disciplines and global geographies.
  • Preparing and maintaining multi-year departmental revenue, balance sheet, and other risk metric forecasts, incorporating multiple investment strategies.
  • Maintaining a comprehensive working knowledge of significant investments and the underlying forecasting assumptions.
  • Participating actively in process improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of valuation and budgeting workflows.
  • Responding promptly to ad hoc requests and preparing detailed analyses as required.

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or another business discipline.
  • At least 1 year of professional experience in a similar role within finance or asset management.
  • Strong foundational understanding of capital and debt markets.
  • Demonstrated strong analytical skills and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Robust coordination and organizational skills, enabling efficient task management.
  • Ability to multi-task effectively, meet tight deadlines, and perform well under pressure.
  • Capacity to work independently within a small team, exhibiting initiative and a proactive mindset.
  • Proficiency in organizing and analyzing large volumes of complex financial information.
  • A collaborative team player attitude, willing to assist in areas beyond explicit job duties.
  • Comfortable working with a manager in a remote location, demonstrating self-sufficiency.
  • Aptitude for thriving in a fast-paced, high-energy work environment.
  • Strong command of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for data analysis and presentation.
