Commodities Institutional Sales Analyst

Business Segment And Role Overview
Equities & FICC: We make markets in and clear client transactions on major stock, options and futures exchanges worldwide. Through our global sales force, we maintain relationships with our clients, receiving orders and distributing investment research, trading ideas, market information and analysis.
The Commodities Institutional Sales desk works with a range of clients (e.g. Hedge Funds, Asset Managers, Pension & Endowment Funds) primarily located across EMEA. Team members help strengthen client relationships across the hedge fund and real money franchises by partnering with Trading, Strats, Federation members, as well as other internal GS Sales teams. On a day-to-day basis, team members will be expected to deliver exceptional client relationship management, stay connected with market events across all commodities products markets, and work with the wider team to support and build the overall business.
Responsibilities
- Supporting senior sales coverage with structuring, pricing and executing derivative transactions with existing clients in both the hedge fund and real money spaces
- Understanding commodities market fundamentals and trends and communicating information to clients
- Collecting, managing and analyzing data related to industry trends and client trading activity
- Producing commentary ranging from a variety of client e-mails to weekly and monthly strategy performance updates
- Developing content and generating trade ideas by liaising with trading teams and GIR
- Executing and booking of tactical/flow-based trades across the asset class; identifying opportunities for low-touch execution
- Interacting with CRMA, Legal and Ops teams internally to help enhance client experience and seamless trade execution
- Helping build new client relationships by working with internal teams to expand the business
- Supporting syndication efforts by working with trading and other sales teams to identify opportunities in offsetting risk management
- Working with strategist teams to assist with back-tests and strategy development on an as-needed basis
Skills & Experience We're Looking For
- Strong academic record with Bachelor’s degree, equivalent or above required
- Strong quantitative, analytical and problem-solving ability
- Ability to multi-task, manage competing priorities and work well under pressure
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Must be a collaborative team player
- Preferred at least 6 months or 1-year experience either within Sales & Trading, or Investment Banking
