About the Position
Golden State is looking for a Director to lead the data strategy vertical within Corporate Partnerships, driving a competitive advantage across our entire portfolio of properties. In this role, you will provide high-level oversight of the partnership lifecycle, managing the strategic execution of GTM initiatives, new business acquisition, and partnership performance. As a key leader and mentor, you will empower a team of three direct reports to deliver industry-leading analysis and insights that inform decision-making for both internal stakeholders and external corporate partners. This role reports to the Vice President, Partnership Insights.

This is a full-time position based onsite in San Francisco, CA.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Vice President on partnership strategy across multiple stages of the partnership lifecycle, including growth and retention of current corporate partners, incremental opportunity monetization, new business acquisition
- Collaborate with Director, Partnership Insights (Creative) to conceptualize bespoke, industry-acclaimed proposals with powerful storytelling that highlight all Golden State properties
- Foster collaboration and alignment amongst Partnership Insights, Development and Sales teams to optimize workflows and reduce time-to-market for new partnership initiatives
- Lead the GTM strategy for new organizational opportunities & platforms that align with current and prospective partner objectives
- Collaborate with Development team regarding supporting materials and execution for partner renewals and upsells - identifying key timelines, emerging trends, and areas of focus
- Develop data-driven 'Why Us' narratives by synthesizing category-specific market trends, audience profiles, and brand affinity data to identify and prioritize high-propensity new business prospects and white-space opportunities
- Lead day-to-day relationships with all third party data and measurement services
- Collaborate with Golden State BI team, leveraging first party data that is additive and/or complimentary to third party partnership data
- Oversee evaluation and pricing methodology; optimizing all partnership inventory, while sharing actionable recommendations
- Own the department-wide utilization and adoption of CRM (KORE Software) and dashboards
- Oversee the NBA league reporting, ensuring timely and accurate delivery and support the WNBA and/or G League submissions as requested
- Manage, develop, and provide growth opportunities for three direct reports
- Other duties as assigned
Required Experience & Skills
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in sports management, business administration, or equivalent work experience
- 7+ years in sponsorship, marketing, or advertising role with a specialization in strategy, research, consumer insights and/or analytics; experience working for a revenue-generating team is a plus
- Strong understanding of the relationship between brand marketing objectives and cross-platform media offerings needed to help drive and achieve a brand’s business goals
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite/Google Suite, KORE (Two Circles), and Tableau as well as media metrics (e.g., viewership, CPM, CPE) and sports industry third party data (e.g., logo detection, qualitative panel surveys, IP analysis, brand health, etc.)
- Track record of developing, evaluating, pricing, and packaging platforms across marketing, experiential, digital, and/or CR that have yielded positive business results
- Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to build positive relationships and translate data into business narratives for partners at all levels across the organization
- Proactive and goal-oriented with strong attention to detail
- Flexibility with changing priorities; ability to organize, prioritize and handle workload
Time Commitment
Ability to maintain a flexible schedule including nights and weekends as needed
Compensation
$115,000 - 120,000 + Bonus (approx. OTE $145,000)
