Data at GoCardless
You will join our Data & Business Systems group, collaborating with technical and non-technical professionals across the company. You'll work alongside talented Analysts, Data Scientists, ML/AI Engineers, and System Admins to design and deliver first-class analytics. We are a driven team with an extensive remit, committed to high standards and continuous improvement on complex projects within GC’s data & business systems stack.

We build simple, reliable systems using the best technologies for each task. Our stack includes Looker, Python, Google Cloud Platform, dbt, Airflow, Vertrex, and Jupyter. While expertise in all these is not expected, team members often pick up new tools on the job.
The Role of a Growth Marketing Analyst
At GoCardless, marketing is crucial throughout the customer lifecycle for acquiring new customers and driving revenue growth. As a Growth Marketing Analyst, you will work closely with all marketing teams – paid, organic, lifecycle – to measure the effectiveness of their efforts in growing our merchant base and accelerating revenue. Your insights will be pivotal in shaping the future strategy of GoCardless.
What Excites You
- Collaborating with Growth Marketing to measure how Paid and Organic strategies drive acquisition, engagement, and revenue.
- Partnering with marketing stakeholders to define and monitor marketing KPIs, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities to inform business-aligned strategy.
- Assisting marketing teams with A/B test design, execution, and statistical analysis of results.
- Ensuring data quality, accuracy, and consistency across all marketing sources.
- Building data products to monitor campaign health, continuously innovating practices and tools for timely insights (A/B Testing, SQL Analysis, Looker/Domo Visualisation, Google Analytics Tracking, Python Automation, Gemini AI).
What Excites Us (Essentials & Nice to Haves)
Essentials:
- Background in performance marketing analytics or a marketing role with a strong data focus.
- Knowledge of common marketing measurement metrics, tools, and methodologies.
- Self-starter with a results-oriented approach, demonstrated by using analytics to drive marketing campaign understanding, growth, and success.
- Experience with data visualization tools and communicating complex data findings clearly.
- Proficiency in basic SQL.
Nice to Have:
- Basic knowledge of Python/R.
- Experience leveraging AI capabilities to enhance data analysis, automate tasks, and improve decision-making.
