About the Role
GM Financial’s Strategic Account Manager program offers an intensive 6 to 8-month training experience that combines classroom learning with hands-on field experience in auto finance sales, credit analysis, and dealer operations. Participants work alongside top sales professionals, gaining skills in business development, customer relationship management, and consultative selling.
Program Details
This program is designed to prepare you for a full-time Account Manager role at GM Financial. During training, you will work in teams, engage in job-shadowing, roleplaying, credit underwriting sessions, and enjoy executive as well as peer networking opportunities. After training, you will manage dealer relationships, analyze data, resolve issues, and represent GM Financial’s brand.
Responsibilities
- Work in a small team to gain account management experience.
- Develop networks across GM Financial and the automotive industry.
- Manage dealer relationships to drive sales and engagement.
- Serve as a liaison between dealers and internal departments.
- Analyze dealer data and identify portfolio risks.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience.
- 2+ years in sales, account management, or auto finance is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines, overcome setbacks, and work both independently and collaboratively.
Working Conditions & Additional Information
The position is based at GM Financial’s corporate headquarters in Fort Worth, Texas. Training requires travel, including overnight stays and weekend availability for credit underwriting. Post training, candidates must be willing to relocate based on assignment within the USA. Benefits include corporate housing during training, a company vehicle, phone/internet allowance, sign-on bonus for relocation, and a generous benefits package.
